About Hypnosis and frequently asked questions.
Hypnosis is a state of concentrated attention on one particular idea or concept. You are not asleep, and
you are not in a 'trance' state which is commonly associated with films.
We all naturally go into hypnosis at least twice a day. When just entering sleep and on waking.
Have you ever been driving somewhere and when you reach your destination wonder how you got there?
Ever read a book and completely ignored someone talking to you as you did not hear them?
When guided into this deep state of relaxation a trained hypnotherapist can communicate directly with the subconcious
mind and with a variety of ideas and suggestions, reprogam it.
this relaxed state a person may appear to be sleeping, but they are more receptive to, hearing, taste, feeling, and smell,
they are also fully aware and able to communicate and open their eyes whenever they want to, they just choose not to!.
No one will ever be made to do anything they do not want to, as the concious mind would come to the fore ground and bring
them out of the relaxed state.

WILL IT WORK FOR ME?
I get asked
this all the time, and yes it will work very well for you as you will have good self control and concentration.
CAN I GET STUCK IN HYPNOSIS?
The answer to this question is definately not, you may want to stay laying on the couch all day as it feels wonderful
to relax but you will never be stuck there.
ANYONE THAT SHOULD NOT BE HYPNOTISED?
there are, people that are heart attact or stroke victims I would not do regression or analytical therapy, and care should
be taken for people that suffer with epilepsy or are pregnant unless the therapist is trained in this particular field of
which I am. Also anyone suffering from psychotic episodes should not be taken into hypnosis.
HOW LONG WILL MY SESSIONS LAST?
Most sessions are approximantely 60-90 minutes long, other than smoking cessation which is approx 2-3 hours in length.
I recognise and respect that we are all unique so I tailor each clients needs individually and use whichever therapy
method is going to be most beneficial. For most suggestion therapy 1- 3 sessions is all that is needed, for Hypno-anaylsis
for more deep routed problems a course of treatment can be from 3-12 sessions, but rest assured I will keep them to a minimum.
